Would you trust an AI model to be your friend?
Reading people’s minds with GPT, ChatGPT Code Interpreter, Personal Intelligence + more
Greetings everyone,
👋 Deiniol here - founder of AI Suite.
I spent many hours creating with Midjourney V5.1 and so, I feel it's my rather selfish duty to do a shameless plug. This small collection on Opensea encapsulates much of my previous business and personal experiences. If you like the image below, have a look :)
For now, here is your weekly dose of AI broken down into 3 highlights, 2 tools and 1 demo/tutorial.
Hope you enjoy 🦘

“A thing that I really, deeply believe is that all—or at least almost all—real sustainable economic growth comes from technological progress.”
- Sam Altman | CEO OpenAI
1 - ChatGPT Code Interpreter
Dataset + Prompt = Diagram:
It’s now that simple. ChatGPT Code Interpreter is an in-house plugin recently released by OpenAI that redefines the way we approach data analysis, visualisation, business strategy, academic research, paper writing and even basic video editing.
With just a few simple prompts it can:
Extract colours from images
Create palettes
Automatically compress large files
Render and convert animated GIFs
Convert data into heatmaps, radial charts, Sankey diagrams (whatever they are) and much more (great thread from Ethan Mollick here).
The seamless file uploading and downloading capabilities make it a versatile companion for countless tasks and, with the rumour of AutoGPT's features soon to be integrated into ChatGPT, the future holds even more advanced functionalities.
This undoubtedly transforms industries like academia and publishing. Massively increasing productivity across various domains.
2 - Pi: Personal Intelligence
“I’ll be here for you tomorrow, and the day after that, and the day after that…”

Would you trust an AI chatbot to be your friend?
That’s what Inflection AI, a startup founded by ex-DeepMind leader Mustafa Suleiman, wants you to do.
The company just launched Pi, a new kind of AI chatbot that can have conversations, answer questions and store conversation history. Pi is not your typical chatbot that performs tasks or commands. It’s a companion that is on your side, with a kind and supportive personality.
You can chat with Pi through voice or text and have it produce original and coherent responses on the fly.
But Pi also has some limitations. It can’t access the internet, so don’t expect it to Google anything for you. It also can’t generate code, write essays, or produce lists. Pi is not trying to be a jack-of-all-trades, but rather a master of one: being your friend.
However, Pi is not designed to be a romantic partner or a fully autonomous agent. So, for the moment, I don't think we can change Pi’s name to "Her". Yet.
3 - Reading people’s minds with a transformer:
Brainwaves Transformed into Text
Researchers have made a system that can read signals in your brain and turn it into words.
Yes.
A team of researchers at the University of Texas at Austin have just filed for a patent for a system that can decode continuous language from non-invasive recordings. Essentially picking up brain signals without sticking electrodes into your skull. Using an fMRI they measured brain activity while the participants listened to speech, imagined speech or watched silent videos.
On a high level, it uses a Semantic Decoder and a GPT to understand any language and operates only with consent.
The system can work with different parts of your brain and different types of speech. It also respects your mental privacy, because it only works if you agree to it and help it learn from your brain.
It also only works on trained data although it is easy to see a path from here to things such as helping people who can’t speak, studying how language works in the brain, or dream interpreting.
They published their press release here.
⚙️ Tool 1
Twelve Labs | Harness the power of video search
Can’t quite put your finger on the name of the movie where the dude jumps out of a helicopter into the ocean with only his surfboard? Or which LOTR movie Samwise Gamgee says, “Po-tay-toes! Boil 'em, mash 'em, stick 'em in a stew.”? Twelve Labs can help.
The company provides a video search API that uses AI to understand what’s happening in videos. The API is super versatile and not just limited to speech. It can extract key features from videos, such as actions, objects, text and people (depending on how good your prompt is). It then turns them into vectors, which are numbers that represent the meaning of the features. These vectors can be used to find videos that match a query, like “show me videos of cats playing the piano”.
The API can also be customised for specific domains, like sports or education. Twelve Labs says its tool can be used for many things, like:
Finding relevant ads to insert in video streams
Automating content moderation and brand safety
Searching CCTV and camera footage with natural language
Organising and managing large video collections
Finding lectures or courses based on keywords or topics
Recommending personalised video content
Simplifying video editing by finding key moments
The company has raised $12M in seed funding and is backed by some of the best in AI.
This is actually so enticing, I may have to build something, myself.
⚙️ Tool 2
Chatbase | ChatGPT for your website
You know what’s annoying? When you visit a website and you have a question, but there’s no one to answer it. You either have to fill out a contact form, send an email, or call a number and wait for a reply. You want ChatGPT on that website…
Enter Chatbase.
An AI chatbot builder that creates a custom chatbot based on either the ChatGPT3.5 (turbo) or GPT4 API for your website, based on your data.
How does it work?
upload a document,
paste text,
or add a link to your website
and Chatbase will train a chatbot that can answer any question about your content. Boom. You can then add a chat widget or an iframe and edit the chatbot’s name, personality and instructions to suit your needs.
Chatbase supports about 95 languages. It also respects your data privacy and security and only works with your consent and cooperation.
