The evolution of the Neural Network
Are you smarter than your computer? Will you always be?
š Hi!
Iām Deiniol, founder of AISuite.io.
It is usually my job for each and every newsletter to provide you with some broken-down resources so you can implement changes in your own day-to-day by increasing the leverage of AI.
However, Iām trying a little experiment this week.
At the bottom of this newsletter is your tool of the week as per usual (which is insanely exciting if youāre in e-commerce) but, for now, Iāve gone deep into the fascinating history of Neural Networks (links towards the bottom) and created this brief infographic timeline. I hope you enjoy. š¾
š§āš« A brief history lesson
Neural networks are at the heart of many of the most exciting developments in AI, from self-driving cars to facial recognition. But how did this technology come to be?
Believe it or not, the origins of neural networks can be traced back to the 1940s.
The history of neural networks is a fascinating journey of discovery, setbacks, and breakthroughs.
But first, letās set the stageā¦
It was 2012, and a prestigious computer science conference in Lake Tahoe was in full swing. The air was electric with the buzz of innovation and excitement. The conference halls were brimming with the brightest minds in the industry from tech giants like Google, Microsoft, Deepmind, and Baidu.
Among them was a certain cognitive psychologist & computer scientist, Geoff Hinton, who was there for one purpose: auctioning himself off. And boy, did it pay off. By the end of the auction, Hinton had raked in an astounding figure.
Keep reading to discover the incredible evolution of neural networks and Geoff Hinton's lucrative auction payday.
